LABEL Featured in Prestigious “La Revue Hospitalière” of France Magazine

Imageens is pleased to share that LABEL solution , has been prominently featured in the renowned healthcare publication, La Revue Hospitalière of France magazine. This recognition underscores Label’s significance in transforming healthcare data management through advanced imaging and AI-driven technology. The coverage highlights our commitment to revolutionizing medical data processes and underscores our dedication to advancing patient care and diagnostics. We are grateful for the acknowledgment and excited to continue making a meaningful impact in the healthcare industry.

Below is a summary of the article:

Imageens, established in 2017 as a spin-off of the Biomedical Imaging Laboratory (LIB) and AP-HP, emerged from a research project aimed at creating a medical software device to evaluate cardiovascular risks using cardiac MRI data.

This innovative solution, currently in the market, inspired by the potential of AI in healthcare, addresses the challenges of structuring and enhancing health data stored in data warehouses.

Collaborating with AP-HP, Imageens developed LABEL, a platform leveraging imaging data classification algorithms. This platform navigates anonymized hospital databases, characterizing imaging exams with metadata for examination type, imaged organ, and quality.

By identifying valuable data for R&D and augmenting data assets, LABEL has versatile applications across various pathologies diagnosed by imaging.

Positioned as a cybersecurity-conscious technology partner, Imageens collaborates with medical experts to validate algorithms through continuous learning. Imageens’ goal is to expand partnerships with French hospital centers and groups to enhance data management, eventually positioning the startup as a pivotal player in data enhancement for medical and research AI development across Europe’s data warehouses.

A solution that will change the future of medical research and diagnostics @ Le Figaro Magazine

« Label » is a  solution that was developped by Imageens, in collaboration with AP-HP (the leading hospital group in France). It aims at exploiting medical imaging data stored in healthcare warehouses.

A new gold mine

Today, many diagnoses or routine treatments go through a medical imaging device such as MRI, CT scanner, or ultrasounds. The images emanating from these examinations are anonymized and placed in health data warehouses (EDS) . These data represent a gold mine of information as it enables us to enter into a virtuous clinical evolution. Despite this potential, finding the right images is like finding a needle in a haystack. These images without being tagged and classified are difficult for researchers to use, which limits their valuation. It is in this perspective that our platform « Label”, co-developed by IMAGEENS and AP-HP as part of an innovative public-private partnership, takes on its full importance.

Core technology

Label’s algorithms place tags, similar to labels, on the images, one by one, according to their characteristics. Data can be categorized by body part imaged, type of imaging exam, or even quality. Researchers no longer spend time pruning a mass of images, they now have access to  data already sorted and annotated by algorithms – an essential shift from “big data” to “smart data ».

Privacy

All data processed by Label’s artificial algorithms is anonymized. Personal information is not attributable to an individual, to ensure patient privacy. « Label” is grafted directly to the hospital device.

LABEL Unveiled as the “Ali Baba” Cave’s New Key by SIH Solution Magazine

In a nod to the famed tale of “Ali Baba,” SIH Solution Magazine has recognized Imageens’ innovative software, LABEL, as the modern key to unlocking the treasures within the data cave. Similar to Ali Baba’s magical phrase, LABEL is transforming health data from an untapped resource into a wealth of valuable insights. This recognition underscores the groundbreaking potential of LABEL in reshaping the landscape of healthcare data management.

Below is a summary of the article:

In the realm of healthcare, the treasure trove of health data often remains untapped due to its unstructured nature. In an analogy akin to Ali Baba’s need for “Sesame” to access treasures, health data warehouses, like the AP-HP’s PACS with over 35 million examinations, hold immense value for research, innovation, and hospital management.

However, the challenge lies in transforming this wealth of data into usable insights. This challenge is being addressed by the Label software, a collaborative effort between the of AP-HP and AI expert company, Imageens.

Label’s innovation is centered on using AI to enhance data understanding. Developed in partnership with AP-HP, Label employs data characterization algorithms specifically tailored for medical imaging. These algorithms categorize data based on technical criteria such as image type, format, quality, and body part. This categorization facilitates data filtering and the creation of research cohorts. AP-HP’s tools, including “Cohort 360,” utilize these filtered categories to identify patients and aid cohort development.

Traditionally, AI’s focus was on improving care software, but Label showcases a new approach. By enhancing data supply prior to research, it expands the realm of AI’s impact. This collaboration signifies AP-HP’s commitment to data mastery and visibility enhancement.

The collaboration between AP-HP and Imageens proves highly effective. Martin Hilka, the platform’s director, acknowledges the value of their partnership, describing it as a “facilitating and transversal tool” that enriches both entities culturally and technically.
